Meet Jesse Welsh, DDS

Dr. Jesse Welsh is the proud owner of Welsh Family Dentistry. He takes a conservative approach to dentistry and he spends significant time with each patient because he wants to get to know each person on a personal level. Understanding as much as possible about each patient’s oral health goals helps him create optimal individualized treatment plans. He also strives to help patients understand the reasons for their treatment.

Dr. Welsh grew up in middle Tennessee and is proud to call it home. At the age of 12, after spending quite a bit of time shadowing a local dentist, he decided that dentistry was the career for him. After completing high school and his undergraduate studies, Dr. Welsh moved to Memphis to attend the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry and graduated in the top of his class earning the Dean’s Award for Clinical Excellence which is awarded to one graduate per year.

Dr. Welsh was then commissioned as an Officer in the United States Air Force and moved to St. Louis, Missouri to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Scott Air Force Base where he was ranked number one in his class. During this time, Dr. Welsh received one-on-one training with dental specialists where he learned to complete advanced cases including removal of impacted wisdom teeth, IV sedation, root canals, and implants.

After his residency, Dr. Welsh spent another three years in the Air Force before deciding to separate from full-time active duty and return home to Tennessee. Dr. Welsh continues his military service part-time in the Tennessee Air National Guard.

Dr. Welsh has been married to his wife Marissa for 12 years and they have three wonderful children. When he’s not practicing dentistry, Dr. Welsh is busy participating in various activities with his family.
